Liberty 2012: Disability Film

Creators of London’s Disability Film Festival, Caglar Kimyoncu and Julie McNamara return to the British Film Institute, Southbank, to curate the best of the fests, celebrating the extraordinary talent and imagination of disabled filmmakers from a selection of Deaf and Disability Film Festivals across the globe.

Two exciting 90-minute shorts sessions, in partnership with the Mayor of London’s Liberty Festival and the BFI, and two great feature films, in partnership with the BFI, promise to offer you an inspiring and unforgettable cinema experience.

Liberty is London’s annual arts festival created by deaf and disabled people and presented by the Mayor of London. 2012 will mark 10 years of Liberty and the vision for this year is to celebrate the anniversary by programming a showcase of artists from previous years together with some new and specially created work. Liberty 2012 will take place at several locations over the first weekend of the Paralympic Games on the 1st and 2nd September.
